01
Feed campaigns scale product coverage
OpenAI supports product feeds that can be uploaded manually, hosted at a URL or automated through supported technical workflows. Products can be filtered into ad groups and structured metadata can be used when default filters are not enough.
02
Use ads_metadata as an operating layer
For ecommerce teams, ads_metadata can carry commercial segmentation such as margin band, product line, lifecycle, bidding tier or inventory strategy. Magnify is designed to create and maintain this channel-specific layer without forcing the merchant to damage the canonical product record.
03
Feed quality should be tied to paid outcomes
A technically valid product feed can still allocate budget badly. Product titles, availability, price, images and metadata should be interpreted alongside clicks, conversion value, ROAS, margin and product-level spend.
04
Keep the feed fresh
OpenAI notes that feed items can expire if they are not refreshed. For large or changing catalogs, use a repeatable hosted or automated feed process rather than treating the feed as a one-time upload.
05
A product-feed operating checklist
Validate identity, title, description, destination URL, image, price/currency, availability, seller/brand context, market scope and any ads_metadata segmentation before launch. Then monitor whether feed state and campaign state remain aligned as inventory changes.
- Stable item identity across refreshes.
- Accurate price and availability.
- Useful customer-facing title and description.
- Resolvable landing page and primary image.
- Intentional ads_metadata instead of unmanaged custom fields.
- A reconciliation process for rejected or stale rows.
