Google Shopping feed cleanup increased eligible products
Merchant Center looked clean at the account level, but a third of the catalog was invisible, restricted, or degraded. Magnify exposed roughly 1,020 affected products and prioritized the fixes. The merchandising team assumed the full catalog was live because Merchant Center showed no critical account-level errors. Magnify looked beneath the summary view and found product-level identifier, attribute, policy, inventory, and variant issues that were quietly restricting eligibility. The audit cross-referenced Merchant Center diagnostics, GTIN presence, required attributes, product IDs, inventory status, and disapproval history. About one third of the catalog was either invisible, restricted, or serving with degraded eligibility even though the top-level Merchant Center summary looked healthy. The cleanup expanded eligible inventory and the amount of useful product data available to Shopping and PMax without replacing the brand's source-commerce system. All accounts are anonymized. Brand names, exact spend figures, and identifying details have been changed or generalized to protect confidentiality. The figures below are illustrative composites built from the structure and magnitude of real Magnify engagements and typical patterns surfaced by Magnify audits.
